Origin: Brazil

Properties: anti-inflammatory, analgesic, kidney and urinary tonic.

Balsam Copaiba has carophyllene, which offers wonderful anti-inflammatory properties. It works very well for inflamed skin, internal inflammation in the digestive tract, and the inflammation of arthritis. It is an effective pain reliever. It is taken orally for lupus, MS and other inflammatory conditions. It strengthens kidney functions and helps with cystitis; it is also being used for urinary incontinence in humans and dogs.

Balsam Copaiba is used externally for skin conditions. It is helpful to a sore throat. It is soothing for heart palpitations and helps us see change in the way we handle stress in our life.

It is gentle enough to use on young children, though it should be well diluted for this purpose.
