Properties: antibacterial, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, analgesic and anti-depressant.

Bergamot improves mood and aids depression. It is helpful to people with SADS (seasonal affective disorder). It heals cuts and reduces scars, and is an aid for skin infections. It is also very helpful for acne and oily skin. It relieves spasms and offers pain relief. It also promotes efficient digestion.

Bergamot may be help reduce stress, anxiety and lower cortisone levels when inhaled or applied externally. Lavender and Bergamot diluted in carrier oil work well together when diffused or applied to the skin.

It has been traditionally used for cuts and wounds, ringworm and eczema.

Bergamot can be sensitizing to the skin when worn in the sun (photoxic). Do not apply before going into direct sunlight.
